Using our service
Terms of Use
The ground rules for browsing Noosa What's On and submitting an event to our community guide.
Last updated 11 September 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when you access Noosa What's On, use its event information, or submit content for publication. By using the site, you agree to follow these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit content.
2. What we provide
Noosa What's On is an independent discovery and promotional service. We collect and present local event information from organisers, venues, public sources, and community submissions.
Unless we clearly state otherwise, we are not the organiser, venue, ticket seller, booking agent, or provider of an event. A listing is information, not our endorsement of an organiser, venue, product, service, safety standard, or claim.
3. Event information can change
We take reasonable care when preparing listings, but event dates, times, locations, prices, availability, accessibility, age restrictions, weather arrangements, and cancellation details can change without notice. You should confirm important information directly with the organiser or venue before relying on it.
If you find an error, please email events@sunshine-coast.today.
4. Third-party links and bookings
The site links to organiser pages, social networks, maps, ticketing platforms, and other third-party services. Those services are operated independently and have their own terms, privacy practices, prices, and refund policies. You are responsible for reviewing them before completing a booking or payment.
We are not a party to a transaction made with an external organiser or platform unless we expressly tell you otherwise in writing.
5. Submitting an event
When you submit an event, you confirm that:
- the information is accurate, current, lawful, and not misleading;
- you are authorised to submit it for the organiser or rights holder;
- you have the necessary rights and permissions for all names, text, images, logos, links, and other material you provide; and
- the listing does not infringe another person's rights or promote unlawful, unsafe, or deceptive activity.
You remain responsible for the submitted content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, format, edit for clarity or length, publish, and promote that content through our website, social channels, and community updates. This licence lasts while we reasonably need the content for the listing and its promotion; you continue to own your original material.
6. Editorial decisions
Submission does not guarantee publication. We may verify, edit, schedule, decline, suspend, or remove a listing where we reasonably consider it inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, outdated, unlawful, inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with the service. We may contact the submitter before publishing.
Featured positions and ordering are editorial decisions unless a specific promotional arrangement has been confirmed separately in writing.
7. Paid events, donations, and promotion
We may invite organisers of paid events to support the service through a donation. Submitting a paid event or making a donation does not by itself guarantee publication, a particular ranking, audience size, engagement level, ticket sale, or social-media result.
We generally feature an individual event no more than once per week. Any specific paid promotional service, deliverable, timing, or refund arrangement must be confirmed separately in writing. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies a consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- submit false, deceptive, defamatory, infringing, or unlawful material;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection with an organiser;
- attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or access restrictions;
- introduce malicious code or interfere with the operation of the site; or
- systematically copy or republish the service in a way that infringes our or another person's rights.
9. Intellectual property
The Noosa What's On branding, site design, original copy, and other original site material belong to us or our licensors. Event names, images, logos, and third-party material remain the property of their respective owners. Limited personal sharing of links to our public pages is welcome.
10. Availability and liability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the site and cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on an event listing, a third-party service, an event change or cancellation, or conduct at an event that we do not organise or control.
These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded. Nothing in these terms limits rights available under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including organiser contact details submitted through the event form.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version and update date will be shown on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and applicable Commonwealth laws.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to events@sunshine-coast.today.
